Help My Daughters Send Their Book, It’s Okay to Cry, to Sandy Hook Elementary Children

Posted on Dec, Tue, 2012 with 5 Comments

Please take a minute to read this note from my daughter, Tatiana, 11, who would love your help in giving something that will help each of the children at Sandy Hook Elementary:

“Hello, my name is Tatiana. I am an eleven-year-old fifth grader. When I heard what happened at Sandy Hook Elementary, my heart broke for all of you. It is the most upsetting news. You might have lost a son, daughter, friend, sister, brother, or someone you knew, and I am so sorry for the pain you are going through. I wish I could go back in the past and change what happened, but I know I can’t. I can’t give you back your loved one, but I hope that this book I wrote will help you in some way.

I know what it feels like to lose someone. I watched my daddy die. I wrote IT’S OKAY TO CRY when I was nine. My little sister, Keira, illustrated it, and my Mommy took the photographs and helped me publish the book. It is about the things I went through after my daddy died. The feelings I felt. And the things that have helped me find happiness again. It has activities and helpful messages. I really hope it helps you get through the hard times.

My Mommy, Keira, and I are ordering, signing, and sending 700 copies of IT’S OKAY TO CRY to you because I want each of the children at the school to have one. We have faith that all of the people who want to send you their love will donate enough money to cover our expenses. No matter what, we will get them to you.

If you are reading this and want to help give these books to the children and families of Sandy Hook Elementary, please click on the donate link. If you cannot donate money, please share this cause with your friends and family so that we can all give love.”

From her proud Mommy: While Social Good Project will not be an official 501c3 non-profit for a few more months, any help we can get now would be extremely appreciated. We are volunteering all of our time to make this happen. At cost, with shipping and printing, we are hoping to raise $8000 to cover our expenses. If we end up raising more than we need, I will also include signed copies of my book, Finding Light: Images and Words to Heal, for the grieving adults of Newtown, Connecticut.

So, while my girls are signing each of these books, we would be extremely grateful for any donations and all sharing of this email with your friends and social networks. We will be getting all of the books to Newtown, Connecticut by December 31st with a note that includes each of your names. We feel very grateful for the love we have in our lives.

Tatiana, Keira, and Hyla Molander (their proud mom)
